Soccer Game Preview: Texas vs. Mt. Pleasant

Texas hasn't had much luck against Mt. Pleasant recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

Texas will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Hallsville, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Texas sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Hallsville on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Tigers were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant hasn't lost a match yet, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They never let Tyler get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Lions are ranked 346th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mt. Pleasant's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Texas, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.
