We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hanceville took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 16-1 margin over Holly Pond. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Josi Jones made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance gave her a new career-low in hits. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Bella Spinks was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Twitty, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3.
Hanceville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Dora had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Broncos.
Ada Nix made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. Nix was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Nix wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aviana Goodmon, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Dora pushed their record up to 6-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Hanceville, their win bumped their record up to 5-7-1.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hanceville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Dora struggles in that department as they've averaged .371. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hanceville was able to grind out a solid victory over Dora in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 15-10. Does Hanceville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dora turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
