Recap: TMI-Episcopal Panthers vs. Saint Mary's Hall Barons
The TMI-Episcopal Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Saint Mary's Hall, falling 64-12. While losing is never fun, TMI-Episcopal can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1363rd, while Saint Mary's Hall is ranked 170th).
Isabella (Beya) Chase was her usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with five steals for Saint Mary's Hall. Chase has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Florence, who scored 18 points along with five steals.
TMI-Episcopal dropped their record down to 1-11 with that loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Saint Mary's Hall, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 27-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. TMI-Episcopal will square off against St. Joseph at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Saint Mary's Hall, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Augustine at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: St. Augustine has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Saint Mary's Hall will arrive with nine straight victories.
