Football Recap: Southern Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Jackson Academy last Friday, Southern Academy came back down to earth. The Cougars were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 29-28 to the East Rankin Academy Patriots.

Drew Rogers threw for 51 yards and one TD.

Brandon Loper had a dynamite game For East Rankin Academy., rushing for 153 yards and a pair of scores. Loper's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Southern Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for East Rankin Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Southern Academy and East Rankin Academy will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Cougars will face off against rival Morgan Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, East Rankin Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Starkville Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
