Basketball Recap: Katie Reed Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat South Knox

Washington lost to South Knox back in November of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Hatchets came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 52-41. The game was the first time the Hatchets have beaten the Spartans on their court since November 9, 2021.

Washington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Katie Reed, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 15 boards. Another player making a difference was Kyra Schuckman, who shot 83% from the field en route to 10 points and three steals.

The victory got Washington back to even at 1-1. As for South Knox, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Washington will challenge Borden at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Knox, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on New Albany at 8:15 p.m. on Friday.
