Football Recap: Kemper Academy Takes a Loss

Kemper Academy extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 1-8. They had to suffer through a 50-6 loss at the hands of the Calhoun Academy Cougars. The Rams were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

As for Calhoun Academy, their record now sits at 4-5. Considering they have won four matchups by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Carsen Stegall had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 119 yards and three TDs on only ten carries, while also throwing for 141 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 119 rushing yards. Bronnor Bingham was another key player, gaining 94 total yards and a touchdown.

Coming up, Kemper Academy will take on Central Holmes Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Calhoun Academy, they will head out to challenge Hebron Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
