Basketball Game Preview: Brentwood War Eagles vs. Trinity Christian Crusaders

The Brentwood War Eagles will challenge the Trinity Christian Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Brentwood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.

Brentwood fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Pinewood Christian on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 39-38 to the Patriots. The War Eagles' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Brentwood might have lost, but man, Bailey Barron was a machine: she posted eight points along with ten rebounds and seven blocks. Barron has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Rizner, who put up five points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Even though they lost, Brentwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in nine consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Trinity Christian humbled Windsor Academy with a 61-21 victory. With the Crusaders ahead 35-8 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Trinity Christian pushed their record up to 14-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Brentwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-5.
