Softball Recap: Lee Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Northside Christian Academy last Thursday, Lee Academy came back down to earth. Lee Academy fell just short of the Thomas Sumter Academy Generals by a score of 11-10 on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Generals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-7 back in March.

Ansley Nesbit made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two triples, and one RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Jameson Collins also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Lee Academy's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Thomas Sumter Academy, they moved to 2-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Lee Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-3 defeat against Marlboro Academy on the 25th. As for Thomas Sumter Academy, they will be playing at home against Orangeburg Prep at 5:30 p.m. on the 1st.
