Softball Recap: Danna Garcia's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Central over Narragansett

Central had lost four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 9-7 to make it five. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (16-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. If they were looking for revenge after losing 19-3 to the Mariners when the teams met back in April of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danna Garcia, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

As for Narragansett, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games.

On Narragansett's side, the team relied heavily on Grace Blessing, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those two triples gave Blessing a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reidy Briana, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 18-8 victory against Hope on the 15th. As for Narragansett, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-0 win against Central Falls on the 20th.
