Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Lainey Tilton and Caroline Shomo Lead Sycamore to Victory

Sycamore lost to Talawanda back in August of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Aviators were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Brave. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Aviators.

While Sycamore won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-23, 25-20.

Leading Sycamore to victory were Caroline Shomo and Lainey Tilton. Shomo had seven digs and two aces, while Tilton had 19 digs and three aces. Shomo has been hot, having also posted 20 or more assists the last five times she's played.

They weren't the only good server: Sycamore was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Talawanda only served seven aces.

Sycamore has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Talawanda, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Sycamore has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Springboro on the 21st. As for Talawanda, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Eaton on the 21st.
