Softball Recap: Tate Aggies vs. Northview Chiefs
Tate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 6-1 to the Northview Chiefs.
Jordan Smith was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Tate saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blakely Campbell, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Campbell hit this season.
Tate's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Northview, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Coincidentally, Tate and Northview will both be playing West Florida the next time they take the field. Tate will head out to face West Florida at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Northview will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
