Baseball Recap: Covina Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Covina and Elsinore squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Covina had to settle for second. They fell 4-0 to the Tigers.

Covina got a good showing from Cesar Guzman, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Guzman has allowed since back in April.

Covina now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Elsinore, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-7.

Covina does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elsinore, they will face off against Bishop Montgomery at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3, the Knights 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
