Baseball Recap: New Providence Takes a Loss

New Providence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Johnson Crusaders. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Pioneers couldn't push the score so high this time.

New Providence's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Johnson, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, New Providence is taking a road trip to challenge Dayton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Bulldogs have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Johnson, they will host Westfield at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Crusaders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
