Volleyball Game Preview: Upper Lake Cougars vs. Clear Lake Cardinals

Upper Lake is 2-8 against Clear Lake since August of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cougars will host the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Clear Lake took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Upper Lake, who comes in off a win.

Upper Lake will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Fort Bragg, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Timberwolves on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Upper Lake never let Fort Bragg on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-17, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Clear Lake came up short against St. Helena on Thursday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Saints: they've now lost three in a row.

Clear Lake was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-18, 25-18.

Clear Lake's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Upper Lake, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
