Basketball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 72-36 loss at the hands of the Lewis Central Titans. The Yellowjackets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-12.

Jefferson's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Junior Gatkuoth, who posted 16 points and six rebounds, and Aiden Jensen, who earned four points. The matchup was Gatkuoth's third in a row with at least ten points.

Jefferson is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for Lewis Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Jefferson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-57 win against Sioux City West on the 10th. As for Lewis Central, they will take on St. Albert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
