Recap: Calvary Christian Academy Eagles vs. North Broward Prep Eagles
The Calvary Christian Academy Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to North Broward Prep on the road by a decisive 57-42 margin. While losing is never fun, Calvary Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 413th, while North Broward Prep is ranked 105th).
When it comes to explaining why Calvary Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Teagan Wakefield. Despite the final result, she scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Brianna Staples, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Calvary Christian Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-5. As for North Broward Prep, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calvary Christian Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Somerset Academy - Canyons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
