Softball Recap: Kankakee Valley Find Success

It's playoff time, and Kankakee Valley had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Lowell Red Devils on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Kougars: when they faced off against the Red Devils on May 6th, they had to take a 9-3 loss.

Mallorie Rose was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, Kankakee Valley let Julia Mahmet and Jessica Beauchamp run wild. Mahmet went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Beauchamp went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Kankakee Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lowell didn't launched any.

Kankakee Valley's record is now 18-9. As for Lowell, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Coming up, Kankakee Valley will face off against Illiana Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Kougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. Lowell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
