Baseball Recap: Perkiomen Valley's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Perkiomen Valley waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Phoenixville Phantoms with a sharp 9-2 win. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 4-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Liam McNeill made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

In other batting news, Perkiomen Valley let Aidan Autovino and Jon Boyd run wild. Autovino scored three runs while going 2-for-3, while Boyd went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI Boyd has posted since back in April of 2024. Michael Strechay was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double.

Perkiomen Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in three consecutive contests.

Perkiomen Valley now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Phoenixville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
