Basketball Recap: North Duplin Skates Past Rosewood with Ease

North Duplin had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Rosewood Eagles 46-17. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Eagles are ranked 458th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North Duplin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tateyawna Faison, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds. What's more, Faison also posted two assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Addy Higginbotham was another key player, putting up 11 points along with eight steals and six boards.

North Duplin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

North Duplin pushed their record up to 20-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.6 points over those games. As for Rosewood, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

As of now, neither North Duplin nor Rosewood have any future games scheduled.
