Basketball Recap: Madrid-Waddington Comes Up Short

Madrid-Waddington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Brushton-Moira Panthers. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Brushton-Moira's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brody McDonald, who posted 12 points and three steals. Anthony Jaing was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points.

Madrid-Waddington now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Brushton-Moira, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Madrid-Waddington will challenge Tupper Lake at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Tupper Lake is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.6 points per game this season. As for Brushton-Moira, they will take on Chateaugay at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
