Baseball Recap: Biloxi Takes a Loss

Biloxi had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-6 to make it six. They fell 8-5 to the Ocean Springs Greyhounds. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Greyhounds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-3 on Tuesday.

Adam Rugg made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

As for Ocean Springs, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.1 runs over those games.

On Ocean Springs' side, the team relied heavily on Victor Rojas, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. AJ Rossi was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

While Biloxi had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
