The Wesley Chapel Wildcats will take on the River Ridge Royal Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wesley Chapel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Wesley Chapel will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Sunlake, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Wildcats walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Seahawks on Tuesday.
The team relied heavily on Eliana Diaz, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Madisen Stewart, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
Diaz wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Wesley Chapel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Wildcats are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, River Ridge waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Bulldogs as they made off with an 11-1 win. The Royal Knights not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 27th.
Mackenzie Vozdecky was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Emma Gutauskas was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
River Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Wesley Chapel, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
River Ridge's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wesley Chapel hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. It's a different story for River Ridge, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain Wesley Chapel's hitters?
Wesley Chapel beat River Ridge 9-5 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Royal Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
