Baseball Recap: Williams Starts off Right with Win over Northeast Guilford

Williams had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Northeast Guilford Rams. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won eight in a row.

Vince Coker was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Mora, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Northeast Guilford is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williams will venture away from home to face off against Caldwell Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northeast Guilford, they will head out to square off against Bartlett Yancey at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
