Basketball Recap: Logan Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Marilyn Moreno and Sarah Williams

After flying high against Grady last Thursday, Logan came back down to earth. The Logan Longhorns took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Springer Red Devils on Saturday. The Longhorns were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Logan's loss came despite strong showings from Sarah Williams and Marilyn Moreno. Williams went 6-for-13 en route to 17 points in addition to seven boards and four steals, while Moreno posted eight points and six rebounds. Those four steals gave Williams a new career-high.

Logan's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Springer, their record is now 17-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Logan will host Grady at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Springer, they will welcome New Mexico School for the Deaf at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Springer is facing New Mexico School for the Deaf at the right time seeing as New Mexico School for the Deaf is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
