Basketball Recap: Claremont Takes a Loss

Claremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Glendora Tartans, falling 78-41. While losing is never fun, the Wolfpack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 865th, while the Tartans are ranked 56th).

Several Wolfpack players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tony Wang, who posted six points and seven boards. That's the most points Wang has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Cardenas, who scored nine points and seven rebounds.

Claremont's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Glendora, the victory (which was their 21st in a row) raised their record to 23-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Claremont will face off against Ayala at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Claremont is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56 points per game this season. As for Glendora, they will challenge Bonita at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Glendora knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 24 matchups -- so hopefully Bonita likes a good challenge.
