Mountain Empire dropped their record down to 13-5 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's nine-game streak of wins. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Liberty Charter Lions. Redhawks fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Lions since on Tuesday.

Jesse Arnold made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last five games he's played.

As for Liberty Charter, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-8. The game was the first time they have beaten Mountain Empire on their field since April 5, 2023.

On Liberty Charter's side, Brody Harris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Isaac Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Liberty Charter's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Otero, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain Empire will host High Tech CV at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bruins have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.75 runs per game on average), something the Redhawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Liberty Charter, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Bonsall at 4:00 p.m. The Lions are facing the Legionnaires at the right time seeing as the Legionnaires are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
