Baseball Recap: Lewisville Finds Home Field Redemption Against Martin

There's no place like home for Lewisville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against the Martin Warriors by a score of 6-1 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Farmers also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2017.

Ivan Corral was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Corral was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

In other pitching news, Aidan Brice looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Vaughn Vongkham was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. He also hit two doubles, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Donovan Smith, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.

Lewisville now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Martin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lewisville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Marcus at 7:00 p.m. on March 12th. As for Martin, they are taking a road trip to challenge Benbrook at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
