MaxPreps 2014-15 Iowa Boys Basketball Fab 5 presented by the Army National Guard

1. Iowa City West
2013-14 record: 24-3, Class 4A state champion
Head coach: Steve Bergman

The Trojans have won the last three state titles in Class 4A and six all-time. David Dileo (6-6, Sr., F) and Connor McCaffery (6-4, So., G) – the son of Iowa Hawkeyes head coach Fran McCaffery – each played major roles a year ago and will be counted on for more as West aims for the four-peat.

2. Wahlert (Dubuque)
2013-14 record: 23-4, Class 3A state champions
Head coach: Tom English



An early Iowa Hawkeye pledge, junior Cordell Pemsl (6-7, F) averaged 15 points and nine rebounds per game as a sophomore to lead the Golden Eagles to a state title.

3. North Scott (Eldridge)
2013-14 record: 21-2
Head coach: Shamus Budde

North Dakota verbal commit Cortez Seales (6-5, Sr., G) is a two-time all-state selection who plays every position on the floor for the Lancers. Seales headlines a deep senior class that helped North Scott win 21 games a year ago before suffering playoff disappointment.

4. Sioux City North
2013-14 record: 21-5
Head coach: Cody Fisher



Also a standout quarterback on the gridiron, senior Dan Tillo (6-5, G/F) is back after posting 21.6 points per game as a junior.

5. Waukee
2013-14 record: 18-4
Head coach: Justin Ohl

Michael Jacobson, a 6-8 senior forward, committed to Nebraska in September. The future Cornhusker posted 17.1 points and 9.7 rebounds per game as a junior.
