Basketball Game Preview: Parsons Vikings vs. Chanute Blue Comets

The Parsons Vikings will challenge the Chanute Blue Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Parsons knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Chanute likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Parsons came up short against Pittsburg and fell 68-58. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Meanwhile, Chanute waltzed into their match on Tuesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Knights 46-43. Given the Blue Comets' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Knights are ranked 155th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Parsons' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5-1. As for Chanute, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.

Parsons beat Chanute 50-41 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Will Parsons repeat their success, or does Chanute have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
