Volleyball Recap: West Muskingum Tornadoes vs. Buckeye Local Panthers

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tri-Valley, West Muskingum was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Buckeye Local Panthers 3-0. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tornadoes as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

The win didn't come easy: Buckeye Local scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-20, 25-22.

Defeat or not, Buckeye Local got some senior leadership from Jenna DelVecchio and Brooke Kovalski. DelVecchio had nine kills and four aces, while Kovalski had eight kills, two aces, and one block. DelVecchio is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

West Muskingum's victory bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Buckeye Local, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

West Muskingum will take on Union Local in a tournament on Thursday. Buckeye Local does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
