Meanwhile, Hawkins strolled past Hemphill with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 61-44. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 416th, while the Hornets are ranked 1011th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hawkins pushed their record up to 31-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.2 points. As for Marlin, their victory bumped their record up to 22-4.
