Baseball Game Preview: Crab Orchard Trojans vs. Eldorado Eagles

The Crab Orchard Trojans will face off against the Eldorado Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Eldorado took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Crab Orchard, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Crab Orchard turned things around against Pope County on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Pirates.

Fisher Watts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Crab Orchard's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Troxel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. Those two hits gave Troxel a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Eldorado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 9-1 to Edwards County.

Crab Orchard's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Eldorado, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.
