Basketball Game Preview: West Salem Panthers vs. Luther Knights

The West Salem Panthers will challenge the Luther Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

West Salem is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau 75-13. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Red Hawks are ranked 447th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Luther, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 53-32 margin over Viroqua on Tuesday.

Luther's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.2 points. As for West Salem, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.

West Salem took their victory against Luther when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 57-35. Does West Salem have another victory up their sleeve, or will Luther turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
