Desert Mountain took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 24-21 victory over the Saguaro Sabercats. This was payback for the Wolves, who suffered a 55-9 loss the last time these two teams met.

Grant Garduno threw for 250 yards and three TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes. Ryan Cratty was his top target, picking up 53 receiving yards.

Despite the loss, Saguaro still got an impressive performance from Ty Strozier, who rushed for 88 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries.

Looking ahead, Desert Mountain will head out to square off against Arizona College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Saguaro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
