Desert Mountain took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They skirted past the Saguaro Sabercats 24-21. This was payback for the Wolves, who suffered a 55-9 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Grant Garduno threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. Ryan Cratty was his top target, picking up 53 receiving yards.

Despite the loss, Saguaro still got an impressive performance from Ty Strozier, who rushed for 88 yards and one TD on only ten carries.

Coming up, Desert Mountain is headed away from home for the first time to take on Arizona College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Saguaro, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
