Basketball Recap: San Gabriel Academy Piles Up the Points Against Western Christian

San Gabriel Academy was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Western Christian on Tuesday. The San Gabriel Academy Eagles really took it to the Western Christian Fighting Lancers for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-42 win. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Fighting Lancers are ranked 911th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Fighting Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kevin Xiong, who posted 12 points. What's more, Xiong also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Brian Wallace was another key player, putting up 13 points.

San Gabriel Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for Western Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-20.

As of now, neither San Gabriel Academy nor Western Christian have any future games scheduled.
