Football Game Preview: Colorado Wolves vs. Reagan County Owls

The Colorado Wolves will square off against the Reagan County Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 13 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Colorado and four for Reagan County.

Colorado is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Ozona on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Wolves were outmatched by the Lions and fell 58-18. The Wolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-18.

Despite the loss, Colorado saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ace Mejia rushed for 90 yards and one score on only 11 carries, and also threw for 154 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. A healthy portion of Mejia's aerial production (99 yards to be exact) went to Brandon Lee.

Meanwhile, Reagan County came up short against Sonora on Friday, falling 38-14.

Reagan County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Colorado, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Colorado took a serious blow against Reagan County in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 62-6. Thankfully for the Wolves, Jarrett Brown (who threw for 475 yards and seven TDs while completing 82.6% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground) won't be suiting up this time.
