Basketball Game Preview: Raft River Trojans vs. Murtaugh Red Devils

The Raft River Trojans will take on the Murtaugh Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Raft River is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Valley just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 72-50.

Meanwhile, Murtaugh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 58-36 to Oakley. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Hornets are ranked 11th).

Raft River's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-3. As for Murtaugh, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

Raft River strolled past Murtaugh in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 59-41. Will Raft River repeat their success, or does Murtaugh have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
