Appomattox County is 8-2 against Altavista since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Colonels at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Appomattox County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Chatham to the tune of 68-7 last Friday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 55-7.

Elijah Davis had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 55 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 92 yards and a pair of TDs. Gabriel Frias also deserves some recognition as he posted his first receiving yards of the season.

Appomattox County's run defense was locked in: Chatham could only muster -1.5 yards per carry. The Raiders didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 13.8.

Meanwhile, Altavista came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They really took it to the Cavaliers for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-6 win. That 57 point margin sets a new team best for the Colonels this season.

Appomattox County better keep an eye on Jacorion Davis. He was instrumental in Altavista's win, rushing for 90 yards and three scores on only ten carries, while also picking up 41 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Cooper Brooks, who rushed for 49 yards and one TD.

Altavista didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jase Shelton and Davis.

Altavista's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Appomattox County, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
