Two dominant backs in Leomar Brown and Nazir Jones-Davis are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Exeter Township Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Bishop McDevitt Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Exeter Township sitting on three straight wins and Bishop McDevitt on nine.
Exeter Township's offense will try to repeat the strong performance it gave on Friday, when they got past Conestoga Valley's usually-dominant defense. The Eagles walked away with a 41-34 victory over the Buckskins.
Jayden Ware had an outrageously good game as he picked up 118 receiving yards and two scores. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 77 yards.
Exeter Township was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 234 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 210 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Exeter Township's defensive line and their six sacks. Jackson Kozik refused to say out of the backfield, picking up three sacks all by himself.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Bishop McDevitt on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Mechanicsburg out of the water with a 47-7 final score. Considering the Crusaders have won eight games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Exeter Township better keep an eye on Maurice Barnes Jr.. He was instrumental in Bishop McDevitt's win, rushing for 63 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Barnes Jr. a new career-high. Sebastian Williams was another key player, rushing for 35 yards and one TD.
Exeter Township's record is now 10-2. As for Bishop McDevitt, their record now sits at 9-2.
Exeter Township took a serious blow against Bishop McDevitt in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 48-14. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Eagles were down 20-0.
