Baseball Recap: Rice Consolidated Comes Up Short

Rice Consolidated lost against Cesar E. Chavez on Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Rice Consolidated Raiders might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 6-5 to the Cesar E. Chavez Lobos, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rice Consolidated saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Glenn Mills, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Mills a new career-high in doubles (two).

Even though they lost, Rice Consolidated was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .381 or higher in three consecutive games.

Rice Consolidated's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Cesar E. Chavez, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.

Rice Consolidated wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-3 loss against Houston Math Science & Tech on the 1st. As for Cesar E. Chavez, they will be playing at home against Hardin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
