Basketball Recap: East Jefferson Comes Up Short

East Jefferson lost against Archbishop Shaw back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The East Jefferson Warriors took a blow against the Archbishop Shaw Eagles, falling 71-31. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Eagles are ranked third).

East Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 23-20. As for Archbishop Shaw, the win was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 31-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Jefferson will take on Brother Martin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Archbishop Shaw, they will challenge Willow at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Archbishop Shaw's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 23 games.
