Softball Recap: Glenburn Wins Going Away Against Stanley

Glenburn won the last time they faced Stanley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Panther blew past the Blue Jays 21-7. The Panther might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 14 runs or more this season.

Glenburn let Emma Jones and Giuliana Harwell run wild. Jones fired off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 3-for-4, while Harwell went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. That home run marked the first that Harwell has launched this season. Ava Stevens was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Glenburn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 25 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Glenburn is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.8 runs over those games. As for Stanley, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, Glenburn will look to defend their home field on Friday against Rugby at 4:30 p.m. Stanley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
