Soccer Recap: Wheatmore Comes Up Short

Wheatmore might've scored the first goal on Monday, but it was Providence Grove who claimed the real prize. The Warriors fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 3-2. Wheatmore were not able to make up for their defeat to Providence Grove from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Carter Queen and Suarez Ortiz scored both of Wheatmore's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 28 goals.

Wheatmore has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Providence Grove, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3-5.

Looking ahead, Wheatmore will take on Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Providence Grove, they will challenge Thomasville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Thomasville's last six matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
