Basketball Recap: Fillmore Central Triumphs

Fillmore Central won the last time they faced Milford and things went their way on Thursday too. In a tight game that could have gone either way, the Fillmore Central Panthers made off with a 60-59 victory over the Milford Eagles. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Eagles are ranked 136th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fillmore Central is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.1 points per game. As for Milford, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

Coincidentally, Fillmore Central and Milford will both be playing Sandy Creek the next time they take the court. Fillmore Central will head out to face Sandy Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Milford will host them at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th.
