The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Central has three straight victories, Crystal Lake Central has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Meanwhile, Crystal Lake Central played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 35-14 to Prairie Ridge. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Wolves are ranked 31st).

Crystal Lake Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Everything came up roses for Central against Crystal Lake Central in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 49-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
