Basketball Recap: Josh Alade Key Part of Team Effort in Coursers Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but The Vanguard School ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They managed a 63-58 win over the Salida Spartans. The Coursers haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead The Vanguard School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josh Alade, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 boards. Alade's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matty Dessalegn, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds.

The Vanguard School's record now sits at 14-4. As for Salida, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7.

The Vanguard School has already played their next game, an 85-48 win against Rye on the 21st. As for Salida, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 58-40 victory against Buena Vista on the 25th.
