Baseball Game Preview: Aransas Pass Panthers vs. West Oso Bears

The Aransas Pass Panthers will face off against the West Oso Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

On Friday, Aransas Pass came up short against Mathis and fell 7-3. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Meanwhile, West Oso beat George West 6-1 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

Julian Garcia was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. He has become a key player for West Oso: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 7-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, Jaime Guerrero was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. West Oso is 5-2 when Guerrero posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

Aransas Pass' defeat dropped their record down to 7-12-1. As for West Oso, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
