Basketball Recap: Wiregrass Ranch Takes a Loss

Wiregrass Ranch lost against River Ridge back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wiregrass Ranch Bulls were outmatched by the River Ridge Royal Knights and fell 50-16. The game marked the Bulls' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Wiregrass Ranch's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andralee Keim, who posted five points and seven rebounds. Keim has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Marley Campbell, who scored six points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Wiregrass Ranch smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive matchups.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead River Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lexi Wade, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals. Those ten steals gave Wade a new career-high. Lauren Lee was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

Wiregrass Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for River Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Wiregrass Ranch wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 38-32 win against Zephyrhills on the 28th. As for River Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-41 victory against Clearwater Central Catholic on the 29th.
