Basketball Recap: Mercy Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Mercy Prep Academy saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 50-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Great Hearts Irving Mustangs. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Loss or not, Mercy Prep Academy got some senior leadership from Dylan Baker and Bradley Lewis. Baker posted 16 points along with seven boards and four steals, while Lewis earned eight points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. Lewis has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Nate Irby was another key player, putting up five points.

Mercy Prep Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Great Hearts Irving, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Mercy Prep Academy has already played their next contest, a 65-35 win against Varsity Opponent on the 8th. As for Great Hearts Irving, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-48 victory against UME Preparatory Academy on the 8th.
